Major
Jason A. Dworkin was born in Detroit in 1975, and joined the CAP cadet
program in 1991 at age 16. Dworkin boasts many accomplishments as
a cadet, including being named Starfire Squadron Cadet of the Year for
1992, as well as earning the Ira C. Eaker Award in September of
1995. Jason held several staff positions as a cadet in his
squadron, such as flight commander, recruit training instructor, and
cadet commander. Since turning senior in 1996, Major Dworkin has served as Squadron Leadership Officer for both Livonia
Thunderbolt and South Oakland Cadet Squadrons in Michigan, the
Communications Training Officer / Assistant Director of Communications
at Michigan Wing HQ, and Deputy Commander of the South Oakland
Squadron. Dworkin is currently assigned as the Squadron Commander
at South Oakland. Jason attended the Michigan Wing
Cadet Leadership School in 1993 as a Cadet Master Sergeant, and
graduated with Academic Honors (#2 in his class of 22 cadets). His
outstanding performance warranted an invitation to return on CLS staff
the following year, which he accepted, working for two years as the
Cadet TAC Officer. Dworkin's CLS service continues into senior
membership, as 2002 will mark his eighth year on staff, and his first as
Deputy Director. His previous senior positions include TAC Officer
and Chief TAC Officer. Major Dworkin has a B.S. in
Aviation Management from Eastern Michigan University and works as a
Dispatcher with IFL Group at Oakland County International Airport.
He is also a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT for the City of Huntington Woods,
MI. Jason's awards and decorations include the Grover Loening
Award, the Unit Citation Award, Commander's Commendation with bronze
clasp, and the Meritorious Service Award. He was officially
promoted to Major in January of 2002. Email
