On
behalf of the members of Great Lakes Region, I proudly welcome
you to our web site. The Civil Air Patrol was formed on
1 December 1941, as part of the Civil Air Defense Services
dedicated to the service of our country. By act of the United
States Congress, we became the official United States Air
Force Auxiliary in 1948.
With over 62,000 trained professional volunteers,
the Civil Air Patrol performs Search and Rescue missions,
provides leadership education opportunities for our youth,
serves as an Aerospace Education resource to schools, and
assists in Homeland Security operations.
This
web site provides both information to those who may be interested
in Civil Air Patrol, as well as operational services for
those serving in the Region. No matter which catagory you
fall in, I hope this site fills your needs.
Sincerely,
Colonel
Charles L. "Chuck" Carr, Jr., CAP
Commanding
